Kalighat, Dec 2: Deputy Commissioner North & Middle Andaman constituted a committee consisting Tehsildar and the Revenue officials who raided at various locations of Kalighat yesterday on 2nd Dec from morning 7am to 10 am. Within 3 hours the team recovered many IMFL bottles from three persons the recovery consisting 750 ml , 180 ml bottles, plastic glasses ready to drink plastic bottles which was diluted with water and pouches with extra plastic glasses for instant consumption like mobile bar. The team asked the police to file 3 cases in this recovery.
Seeing the raid by the Revenue officials the police also started raiding various places and recovered many IMFL bottles and files 2 cases on them.
During the 2015-16 when bars were running in Kalighat area there were less than 10 cases files in bootlegging and IMFL matter by the police while after closing the bars within one year more than 150 cases filed by the Police at Kalighat related to bootlegging and IMFL recovery.
