Port Blair, Nov 29: Taking swift action on a kidnapping case, the Diglipur Police has rescued a minor girl of North Andaman from Calcutta, West Bengal.
According to report on 20th November 2018 a resident of North Andaman had registered a case of kidnapping of his minor daughter but Investigating Officer was changed from PS Kalighat to PS Diglipur at the very next day under command of DySP. On 21st November 2018 the case was hand over to Investigation Officer SI Roshan George of DIglipur, who recently headed the team, which apprehended 10 Bangadeshi National from Diglipur.
In this case, the Investigating team, consisting of the Investigating Officer, SI Roshan George, Lady Police Constable Miss Preeti, PS Diglipur and two staffs of PS Aberdeen developed the intelligence and cracked the case by tracking of the accused namely Nayan Bairagi.
According to reports, the accused was changing the location in Koltaka but somehow the IO contacted the minor girl through his reliable source and by counseling, he convinced the minor girl to return to Port Blair. On 27th November when she arrived at the Veer Savaarkar Airport Port Blair, IO received her and returned the girl to her family.
During the investigation it was learnt that the girl had gone to Kolkata with a person named Nayan Bairagi, a private worker of North Andaman. They reportedly escaped via MV Swarajdweep on 18th and on 20th Nov the parents registered a case of missing. It is learnt that the accused is still absconding, the case has now been returned to PS Kalighat for further inquiry.
