Port Blair, Nov 25: It has been observed by Secretary (STA) that the Stage Carriage Operators are playing music system in high volume causing inconvenience to the passengers onboard, distracting the driver and endangering the life of other road users. As per Rule 101 of Andaman Nicobar Islands Motor Vehicles Rules ’2006 audio visual, radio, tape recorder, etc. or like type of devices are not to be placed or played by the owner, driver in stage carriage buses causing inconvenience to the passengers and road users. All the owners of stage carriage Buses operating in South Andaman District have been directed to ensure that all such devices if fitted are removed within three days from the date of publication of this Press Note. Strict action would be initiated under the extant rule provision against violators after the stipulated period, as said. General Public is also advised to report violation on the above matter to the Transport Control Room (Ph: 03192-240059, 230259, 9434280018).
