Port Blair, Nov 16: Two-days state level training –cum-workshop on ‘Management of Neurological disorders through Ayurveda’ for Medical Officers (Ayurveda) under Health department, NAM & NHM (including RBSK) organized by AYUSH Wing of DHS and A&N State AYUSH Society at TGCE Seminar Hall on 14th and 15th November, 2018 concluded successfully. The workshop was inaugurated on 14th November by Mrs. Kriti Garg, IAS, Secretary (Health)/MD (NHM & NAM) by lighting the traditional lamp.
Prof. Dr. Umesh Shukla, Principal, PKS Govt. Ayurveda College Bhopal, enlightened on the Patho-physiology and management of common Vatavyadhi in Ayurveda; and demonstrated the clinical examinations in neurological cases thoroughly.
Dr. Prakash Mangalasseri, Associate Professor, Vaidaratnam PS Varier Ayurveda College, Kottakkal, highlighted on ‘Keralian approach in Management of Vatavyadhi & Manasvyadhi’; and also gave hands-on training on various Panchakarma procedures viz. Kayaseka-Pillichil, Takradhara, Jambirapinda Sweda, Dhoomapana.
Dr. Abhaydeva, RO I/c, RRCA, CCRAS, Port Blair covered ‘Common Neurological problems in children and their Ayurvedic management’.
Dr. Murali Krishna, Asst. Professor, Dept of Medicine, ANIIMS, Port Blair explained on ‘The Diagnostic and Therapeutic approach to common Neurological cases in modern medicine’.
Twenty Medical Officers enthusiastically participated in all the technical sessions at Seminar Hall, TGCE and practical Panchakarma demonstrations at AYUSH Hospital.
In a valedictory function held on 15th November, Secretary (Health) congratulated all the doctors for completing the workshop, and also appealed them to apply the acquired knowledge in day to day practice in the welfare of the society.
