Port Blair, Nov 14: Along with rest of India the Andaman Nicobar Pradesh Congress Committee has also celebrated the 129th Birth Anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India and architect of modern India today at Gandhi Bhawan, Port Blair.
At the outset the PCC President Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma garlanded the portrait of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru followed by floral tribute by senior leaders and supporters of Congress party as well as the general public.
Mr. Kuldeep said that India of today is because of Nehru’s ideas and lifetime dedication to the nation. “Nehru ji’s life and vision, his struggles and his achievements were no less than epic. If India is a vibrant democracy and the largest developing economy today, it is because of the initiatives of Nehruji to introduce green revolution, launch various multifaceted developmental programmes, the PSUs and premier institutions of learning, it is for these reasons Nehruji is referred as architect of modern India,” said Mr. Kuldeep .
