Port Blair, Nov 11: Absence of Security Guards, at Andaman Nicobar Islands’ lone referral hospital, GB Pant, is creating a lot of problems for patients and medical staffs.
According to reports, private security guards posted at GB Pant Hospital perform a number of tasks including security of wards, security of patients, security of parked vehicles, parking management, security in mental ward etc.
Sadly due to absence of security guards at GB Pant since 31st October 2018, all these works have suffered a hit.
When contacted, the Director of Health Services Dr. S P Burma told Andaman Sheekha that the contract for Security Guards finished on 31st October 2018. He assured that within one week the tendering process for the same will be completed and security guards will be back on duty. He said that private Security Guards play a very important role in G B Pant Hospital complex.
