Port Blair, Nov 08: In a joint raid by staffs of PS Wimberlygunj and staffs of Police Out Post Wimberlygunj three people were arrested from Mallapuram Water Filter Bed area of Wimberlygunj, public reported.
It is learnt that during the raid, Rs. 20,000 board money and Rs. 6000 of pocket money were recovered by Police.
The accused persons are Mr. Shamshad Ali, 40 years R/o Wimberlygunj, Mr. Adi Narayan, 53 years, R/o Wimberlygunj and Mr. Jeeven Kumar, R/o Shoal Bay number 12.
According to eyewitnesses the team consisting of Hawalder SP Ramnath, PC Krishnanand Roy, PC Sailen Pandey, PC Anil Kumar, PC Rodrick, PC Debasish, PC Jagan Yadav was led by SI Rangaswami, in-charge, PS Bambooflat, SI Satyawati, In-charge, Outpost Wimberlygunj. Further details are awaited.
