Baratang, Oct 24: The Baratang Islands today witnessed nearly 12 hour long power cut, which disrupted normal life in this remote Islands. Due to power cut many businesses in Baratang suffered heavily not only, the blood tests also could not be done in PHC Baratang.
Sources said that due to falling of tree on power line the power line snapped nearly South Creek area, the incident also damaged an electric pole at ATR.
The staffs of electricity department however worked tirelessly and repaired the power cables, knocked down the damaged electric pole of ATR and also erected a new electric pole by evening, with the help of police jawans.
The electricity was restored at Baratang by evening 6.00 PM.
