Port Blair, Oct 21: Deputy Commissioner Mr. Udit Prakash Rai (IAS) paid tribute to martyr Ramesh Singh at his statue, situated at Shadipur Junction yesterday.
Prominent citizens and the family member of martyr Ramesh Singh were also present during the occasion.
Born on 14.03.1966, Martyr Ramesh Singh was in Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF) 85 Battalion 881165769, got martyr on 20.10.1996 at Phoruchak, Kashmir, while fighting against terrorists. He suffered 36 bullet injuries.
Martyr Ramesh Singh was honoured with Police Medal on 28 December 1998 Posthumously for his bravery.
