Port Blair, Oct 01: The Wildlife Division, Department of Environment and Forests, Andaman and Nicobar Islands on the eve of 64th Wildlife Week Celebration, 2018 organized awareness rally involving school and college students, personnel from paramilitary forces, general public and Departmental staffs. The rally was flagged off by Shri. D. M. Shukla, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) at 07.00 AM from Van Sadan, Haddo and the rally passed through various points of the city and culminated at JNRM Football Ground. The chief guest addressing, the gathering urged everyone to work towards conservation and protection of Wildlife and its habitat. Dr. G. Trinadh, Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) welcomed the gathering.
On 30th September, 2018 an one day workshop on canvas painting was organized at Audio-Visual Centre, Mini Zoo, Haddo in the theme of “Birds and Animals of Andaman and Nicobar Islands” in which professional and amateur artists participated to paint their thoughts and their creations exhibited for the general public at Forest Museum, Govt Saw Mill, Chatham from 01st October, 2018 to 15th October, 2018 .
