Port Blair, September 26: There is a good news for those, people who are living with the constant fear that someday their house will get sealed or demolished following minor or major violations of PBMC building norms, as the newly elected chairperson of Port Blair Municipal Council, Mrs Anusia Devi today said that she will put her whole efforts to introduce norms for one time relaxation.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha over phone, Mrs Anusia Devi said that ‘one time relaxation for building violation’ is the need of the hour and already the State President, Bharthiya Janta Party, Mr Vishal Jolly is working on it.
“If once we get the one time relaxation, PBMC will ensure that the public further follows building construction rules strictly,” Mrs Anusia said.
Further talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mrs Anusia said that proper cleanliness in the city would be her second agenda for which all the councilors will leave no stones unturned. “All the parameters for cleanliness like solid waste management, safety of sanitary workers would be taken due care off,” Mrs Anusia added.
Finally Mrs Anusia said that her third major agenda for which she will work for is the Regularization of Daily Rated Majdoors and Casual Workers of PBMC.
Mrs Anusia Devi also said that she will take up the matter of constructing flyover in the city in the council so that the denizens get a bit relief from the traffic chaos which has now become the major problem in the city.
She said that most of the states in the country construct flyovers to get rid of traffic chaos and thus construction of flyovers in Port Blair is very necessary, considering the present traffic situation.
“I will take up the matter in the council and will try hard that we atleast check the feasibility of constructing a Flyover here in the Port Blair City,” Mrs Anusia said.
