Port Blair, Sept 12: In a shocking development, Lt. Commander, Neeraj Kumar, an executive officer of Indian Navy posted INS Kardeep, Kamorta Island, reportedly committed suicide at the base on Tuesday evening.
As per details the officer was second in command in the Indian Navy Base INS Kardeep situated at Kamorta Island of Nicobar District, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The reason behind the incident is yet not known however a case of unnatural death has been registered with police at PS Nancowry.
The Public Relations Officer of Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) was unreachable for a comment in this regard.
Due to unavailability of mobile network in remote Kamorta Island, police could not be contacted for any official quote but unconfirmed report said that he died because of pistol bullet wound.
