Port Blair, July 19: Though the electricity department is regularly releasing the power cut schedules but those schedules are hardly followed by the department, causing great deal of inconvenience to public.
Because of the unscheduled Power cuts general public are neither able to plan their daily works nor the students are able to study properly. Business owners are the worst hit.
“Yesterday the schedule of power cut in New Pahargaon area was 9:45 pm but instead of that the power went off at 8:45 pm itself. This happens all the time,” complained a resident of New Pahargaon.
When Contacted, on the condition of anonymity a highly placed source in Electricity Department told Andaman Sheekha that the schedule is made in the Headquarter Division, but the people in Chatham Power House execute the power cuts and often they cut power as per their own wish.
It seems that due to lack of coordination between the HQ Division and the Chatham Power House people of South Andaman are great inconvenience. Hope the HQ division will take note of this issue.
