
Port Blair, Aug 31: In order to provide succour to the flood affected people of Kerala, an amount of Rs. 1, 28,205/- (Rupees one lakh twenty-eight thousand two hundred five only) has been collected in Great Nicobar. A demand draft for the said amount, drawn in the name of Chief Ministers’ Distress Relief Fund, Thiruvananthapuram, was handed over to Mr. Chetan B. Sanghi, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration at Secretariat today (31.08.2018) by a delegation comprising of Mr. Gajandeep Singh Grewal, Zilla Parishad Member from Campbell Bay and Mr. Parashuram Singh, General Secretary, Ex-servicemen Association, Campbell Bay.
The said demand draft, along with the one-day salary collected from the officers and employees of Andaman & Nicobar Administration, will be sent to the Chief Minister of Kerala by the Lt. Governor, Andaman & Nicobar Islands shortly.
