Port Blair, Aug 27: As part of the regular activities of District Child Protection Unit (SA), the team has conducted Awareness Programme at various Child Care Institutions such as Ramakrishna Mission, Machhi Line, Seva Niketan, Dairyfarm and at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Prothrapur recently.
The team consisted of Legal-cum-Probation Officer, Protection Officer (NIC) and Counsellor visited CCI’s and schools and explained about various child related Acts and laws (J.J. Act, POCSO Act, Child Labour Act, Child Marriage Act etc) and created awareness on substance abuse and also explained in detail about the structure and functions of DCPU.
Inmates and In-charges of CCI’s and students and teachers of school have attained and participated in the programme actively.
