Port Blair, Aug 07: MP raised issue with Hon’ble Minister Information& Broadcasting to enhance the Power Transmission of DDK , Port Blair & for broadcasting of Pradeshik Samachar through the F.M.Radio.
“Since past few months, the All India Radio, Port Blair is broadcasting F.M. Programme of Vivid Bharti with the link of Mumbai. The F.M broadcasting is available daily from morning to till closing time of broadcasting of All India Radio, Port Blair. Unfortunately this facility is available only in Port Blair. Hence the Islanders residing in far flung areas including tribal areas are consistently demanding for availability of F.M. Radio in the entire inhabitant area of A & N Islands for entertainment. The Islanders are also demands for broadcasting popular and informatics news of “Pradeshik Samachar” through the F.M Radio
Considering the genuineness of the demand, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray,M.P. vide his letter dtd.06.08.2018 has raised the issue before the Hon’ble Minister of Information & Broadcasting and requested him to intervene in the matter and to extend his direction to the concerned authorities to broadcast the local news of “Pradeshik Samachar” through F.M Radio along with other entertaining programme and also to up-grade the linking facilities for enlargement/ enhancement of the transmission coverage for enabling to broadcast the Pradeshik Samachar, Govt. sponsored programmes and other entertaining programmes through the Doordarshan Kendra Port Blair in the interest of Islanders.
