Port Blair, Aug 07: The long pending matter for upgradation of pay scale of Para Veterinary staff of A&N Administration was pending since past 20 years. However, when the matter was brought to the notice of Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament, A&N Islands, he took up the issue with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare GoI, New Delhi as well as UT Administration and pursuant to that, the UT Administration vide their letter dated 22.05.2018 has submitted their views/comments and recommended to implement the same as per 5th CPC.
The proposals of UT Administration received by the Ministry has been referred to Ministry of Finance for concurrence which is pending there. However, on the request of the para veterinary staff who are about 280 staff of various grades, Mr. BP Ray, MP along with the officials of Veterinary department namely Mr. Ram Pyare Yadav and Mr. G. Babu met Mrs. Annie George Mathew, Jt. Secretary (Perl), department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, GoI, New Delhi today on 7th August, 2018 and appraised the whole issue to her in details who after hearing, has assured that she would consider the matter and would communicate her observation/decision to the concerned authority within 2-3 days .
