She said mostly women’s in Andaman and Nicobar are limited only for the household chores or understand the responsibility of home and family members. They were kept totally unaware of their rights and own development. In India we use to say this country as “Bharat-Mata” however never realized the true meaning of it. Bharat-Mata means a mother of every Indian whom we have to save and care always. Empowering women has become the focus of considerable discussion and attention all over the world. Today we enjoy the benefits of being citizens of a free nation, but we really need to think whether each of the citizens of our country is really free or enjoying freedom in the true sense of the term. The inequalities between men and women and discrimination against women need to be eliminated.

He pointed out many local issues including unemployment in Andaman, issuance of domicile certificate, grand of unemployment allowance to unemployed youths, 100% reservation of government jobs to all three categories of Andaman Islands, condition of roads in Andaman, shortage of teachers in government schools of North and Middle Andaman as well as Car Nicobar District, poor internet connectivity which is disturbing the transaction in banks, due to poor internet connectivity the issuance of e-certificates in CSC’s are always hampered.
Shri Raja Gopal, Working President, Trinamool Congress, Territorial Committee also addressed the gathering. He pointed out the equality in people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The peace and harmony in India is decreasing day by day. Cases of lynching by crowd are a serious matter of concern.
