
Port Blair, July 26: Life Skill Education programme was held at Darussalam Yatheem Khana on 25th July, 2018 at 4:00 PM, District Child Protection Unit South Andaman in collaboration with the Rights For All, (RFA) NGO, on now working in the area of child, women and youth right protection, health and empowerment initiated the second amongst its series of Life Skill Programme at various Child Care Institutions. Smti. Sushma Pandey Protection Officer (Institutional Care) DCPU (SA) very enthusiastically welcomed the inmates of Darussalam and the special participants and briefly spoke about the need of organising the programme. The In-charge of Darussalam Yatheem Khana Mr. Mohammed Ali, was explained in detailed about the function, strength and activities of the CCI.
The Chief Guest of the function Smti. Rubina Siddiqui, founder President Rights for All, NGO and Ex-member UTCPCR, explained the concept and the importance, effectiveness of Life Skill Education in the development of children social, emotional and cognitive development and dealing with their psycho – social problem and issues. All the inmates enthusiastically took part in the discussion that followed. Every month DCPU (SA) team aims to conduct Life Skill at various CCI’s thus equipping children with skill that will strengthen their ability to meet the need and demands of the Present society and helps in dealing with various problems in desirable manner.
Master Ansh Sanjay, Brand Ambassador, “Child Protection” was the special invitee, who shared his growing up experiences and achievements and how with the proper implementations of Life Skill he became the Brand Ambassador. The Construction of fish landing center at Dignabad is along pending demand of the fisherman Community. Today on 26th July 2018 the Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman Mr.Udit Prakash Rai IAS inspected the Dignabad area and held discussion with the Chief Engineer ALHW, Directoer Fisheries and Officials of PMB in the presence of Mr.Vishal Jolly, Member HMAC Mr.Indra Pal Singh, Chairperson Port Blair Municipal Council and Smti.E.Rani, Ward Councillior. After discussion, possibilities for construction of fish landing center at the area it was decided that the final decision shall be taken once the department of ALHW prepares a plan in consultation with different stakeholder Departments. Further the team inspected land in the vicinity for setting up of a platform which can be utilized as selling zone and a patch of land was identified. The Deputy Commissioner assured that if the land belongs to Revenue Department and free from dispute, the same will be set-apart in favour of Port Blair Municipal Council. The Chairperson further assured that in case of non-availability of Revenue land a part / patch of land out of 0.65 Hectares at locality which is already set a parted in favour of the Council shall be made available for construction of fish selling platform.
