Port Blair, July 17:As a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility activity, the Youth Wing of the Andaman Chamber of Commerce & Industry conducted a tree plantation drive inside and around the Science Centre with an idea to save the nature and keep Andaman clean and green. Tree guards were also provided for the trees planted along the road for protection from animals. More than 50 students from different schools along with Members of the Chamber attended the function. PS Deepak, Chairman Youth Wing of ACCI welcomed the gathering. Dr. Utpal Sharma, Special Secretary (IT)/Secretary, Science Centre/Principal, DBRAIT was the Chief Guest on the occasion and appreciated ACCI for such CSR activities and also requested ACCI to maintain the trees. GirishArora, President, ACCI appreciated the initiative of the Young Wing of the Chamber and mentioned that the Green Sankalp – a Green initiative project of ACCI will be made as a calendar event. Under Green Sankalp – more trees will be planted every year in all parts of these Islands.
