Bringing some good news for those Islanders, who had lost their land in Tsunami because of inundation, the Member of Parliament of Andaman& Nicobar island, Mr.Bishnu Pada Ray today said that the Committee for Land Issues headed by Mr. Vivek Rae had already submitted its recommendation, according to which farmers who have lost their land due to inundation will get around Rupees Thirty Six Lakhs per hectare as compensation. Addressing to press conference at MP office today the Member of Parliament said that as per the recommendation of the Committee for Land Issues those who have already surrendered their land and have received compensation amount of Rupees Nine Lakhs Thirty thousand per hectare compensation should get another Twenty Six Lakh Thirty Four thousand per hectare as balance compensation amount. And those who have not surrendered their submerged land yet should get Rupees Thirty Six Lakhs Seventy Three Thousand per hectare as compensation amount.
According to MP the committees has also recommended regularization of encroached land till 7.5.2002 to 200Squaremeters in urban area and 340 Square meters in rural area.
The Member of Parliament also said that the quota for Haz has also been increased by the Modi Government upto 500 numbers for Andaman & Nicobar Islands.He said that this year total 183 applications are received for Haz and all these 183 people will now be going for Haz.
