Port Blair, July 16 (PIB) India Tourism, Port Blair, inaugurated a six days Hospitality Training Programme under Hunar Se Rozgaar Scheme, to train youngsters working in the Hospitality sector, at Fortune Resort Bay Island, Port Blair, today. About 50 Trainees, presently working in various Hotels in the Isles, will undergo training during these days. The Training Programme will focus on the Housekeeping aspect of Hospitality.
The Purpose of the training under Hunar Se Rozgaar Scheme is to impart necessary skills to youth, working in different areas of Hospitality Operations like, House Keeping, Food Production, Front office, Food & Beverage services and extending services to the guests.
During the training, the participants will be sensitized about all the aspects of Housekeeping for effective delivery of services to the customers and for better interaction with them to give a feeling of ‘home away from home’. The trainees will also get a Certificate and Stipend at the end of the Training from Ministry of Tourism.
On the occasion, Mr. Y Neelakantham, Assistant Director, India Tourism, Port Blair, welcomed the Trainees and briefed them about the Training Programme.
Professionals from Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata, Professor Debasis Das, and Asst. Professor Ravi Raj Asst. Professor, interacted with the participants. They will be responsible for imparting necessary training and skills to the participants.
Mr. Virender Thapa, General Manager, Fortune Resort Bay Island, Port Blair was also present on the occasion. In coming days, India Tourism, Port Blair plans to organize many such training programs in different parts of the Isles.
