Port Blair, June 27: The General Body Meeting of Andaman and Nicobar Media Federation was held today at Media Room of IPT building at 11 A.M.
The meeting was organised mainly to reconstitute the executive committee and during the meeting Mr. K Ganeshan was re-elected as the President of Andaman and Nicobar Media Federation, while, Mr. Shyam Singh Yadav, Mr. Anadiranjan Biswas and Mr. Uday Shankar Singh were re-elected as Vice President. Mr Sanjib Kumar Roy was elected as General Secretary of the Federation while Mohammad Rafi was re-elected as organising secretary and Mr. Denis Giles was re-elected as Treasurer. Mr. S P Ellango was elected as Joint Secretary of the Federation.
The meeting also inducted Mrs. Uma Bharathy, Mrs. Kalaivani, Ms. Roopa Lal, Mr. Nitish Tiwari and Mr. N Thirupathi in the executive committee along with already existing executive members Mr. Yada Giri Rao, Mr. Sachidanand, Swami Sudiipananda Avadhuta, Mr. K.S. Mahesh Kumar, Mr. Harris Anselm, Mr. Harris Anselm, Mr. T.Sivaraman and Mr. N.Thirupathi.
During the discussion, all members of the Federation expressed serious concern over the matter that during every VVIP visit, local journalists are indirectly harassed by the IP Division by asking various details of journalist in the name of issuing of Security Pass, although the IP Division already has all details available with them, which is updated every year by local journalists.
