Port Blair, June 22: The 4th International Yoga Day was celebrated by the staff of the ICAR- CIARI in its campus along with the rest of the world. Dr. M. S. Kundu, Nodal officer for celebration of International Yoga day welcomed the gathering and described genesis of International Yoga Day. The yoga practice started with the prayer, followed by warm up exercise. The different asanayas and pranayam were also practiced by the staff of the Institute under the supervision of the yoga trainers trained by the AYUSH, Port Blair.
Earlier, Dr. A Kundu, Director CIARI praised the team of the yoga trainers for their role to motivate the staff to practice yoga regularly since 5th June 2018. He also gave away the prizes to six wards of the staff who practiced yoga for last 15 days. During his address he narrated the importance of yoga on health and well being. He also requested all the staff to practice yoga on regular basis and should not be a ritual. Lastly Mrs. Archana Sharma yoga trainer and technical officer of CIARI proposed vote of thanks to the participants.
