Port Blair, June 20: The Corporation is operating a milk plant at Dairy Farm, Port Blair and is engaged in procurement, processing, packaging of milk and production of paneer and curd.
The plant has installed milk-processing capacity of 8000 ltrs per day. The plant also has equipment like homogenizer, pasteurizer, pneumatic milk packing machine, boiler, cold storage, etc.
The corporation has decided to open its milk plant for study tour for students of XI and XII class. Recognized schools interested in sending their children have to write to General Manager (Milk Plant), ANIIDCO at least one week in advance. The maximum size of group can be 50 and the group to be accompanied by a teacher. The visiting time to the milk plant will be from 9.00 am. to 12.00 pm from Monday to Friday. Students will be explained about the operation of the milk plant and students shall also be offered complimentary sweet lassi/ butter milk.
The objective of allowing the Study Tour is to familiarize students with the processes and to increase social interaction of the Corporation.
