Port Blair, June 03: A resident of Garacharma have been arrested, under POCSO Act, by Pahargaon Police team for marrying and impregnating a minor girl. According to reports on information, the matter was investigated and after getting sufficient proofs, the accused was immediately arrested by police team this evening.
Sources said that both the accused and victim originally belong to remote areas of West Bengal and they married in their natives. Presently they are living in South Andaman area and when the girl was brought to G B Pant Hospital, the Doctor noticed that she is underage and reported the matter to police.
