Port Blair, May 23: Today the grand final of Dr. B. Srikanth Memorial Rolling Trophy, T-20 Cricket Tournament – Session-III organized by Nicobar District Police was held at BJR Stadium and the defending champion Mus -A defeated the Small Lapathy -A team by 9 wickets.
Prior to prize distribution ceremony, a skit was performed by the student of Summer Camp organized by Nicobar District Police on the theme “POCSO”. The skit was very informative and very well presented before the audience and was widely appreciated by all village headmen and the people of Car Nicobar.
Nicobar District Police has been successfully and effectively implementing the Nirbheek scheme. Under this Scheme, Nirbheek complaint boxes have been installed in all the schools and interactions with the school children are being done on regular basis by the local police station staff.
The District SP is personally monitoring the implementation of this scheme and the skit which was performed by the student of Summer Camp was a new initiative by district police and he has rightly used the gathering for an awareness on such a serious social issues.
Apart painting competition and others have initiated to motivate children to approach Nirbeekh box by Nicobar police. Nicobar police has been vanguard of this scheme in the entire Andaman. DC Car Nicobar Mr. Awanish Kumar, IAS and Mr. Reginald Watchful, Dy Vice Chief of Nicobar Tribal Council were the Chief Guest and Guest of honor on the occasion along with SP Nicobar gave away the prizes to the winners, runner-ups and outstanding players under various categories with trophies and cash rewards.
