Port Blair, May 09: The family members, D. Dhanalakshmi, who committed suicide yesterday, following some family problems, today organized a protest infront of Mortuary and refused to take the body until and unless the mother-in-law of the victim is arrested. The crowd also demanded to handover all the jewellery of the victim, back to victim’s family.
An FIR was already lodged against the husband of the victim for abetment of suicide yesterday.
Meanwhile, as per sources all the jewellery of the victim was handover back to the family by afternoon but police sources said that due to lack of any evidence FIR against the mother-in-law was not possible.
As per details, later after several levels of talks,by 03 PM, the family members of the victim called off the protest and accepted the body for cremation. Further details are awaited.
