Port Blair, July 08: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, Pradesh Congress Committee in a letter addressed to Smt. Jayanthi Natarajan, the Minister of Environment & Forests, has welcomed the decision of the Ministry to agree ‘in principle’ the proposal of transfer of the ownership of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands Forest & Plantation Development Corporation Ltd. (ANIFPDC Ltd), to the Andaman & Nicobar Administration and requested her to convey early approval of the Ministry on the issue so that thousands of employees of the ANIFPDC Ltd. gains the status of government employees and could accordingly enjoy the benefits extended to government employees. A reminder to this effect has also been sent for early finalization of this case.
