Port Blair, April 20: Four adjacent houses gutted in a fire accident at area of Anarkali, opposite of Anarkali Community Hall this morning.
According to fire department officials, the fire broke out in one of the adjacent houses at Anarkali Area in the morning around 8.10 am. The fire reportedly spread very fast in adjacent houses and reduced all to ashes.
The local people who watched the fire from the house immediately called the fire officials. The fire tenders reached the spot in no time from Marine, Aberdeen, Chatham, Haddo and Garacharma and tried to douse the flames but till that time the house was completely gutted and nearly property of 12 lakhs was lost. The reason for fire is still not known.
