Port Blair, Apr 18: To increase the working culture in Hindi and as per the directions of Official Language Department, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, the Directorate of Health Services has conducted two day Hindi Workshop for all ministerial employees working in different offices functioning under this Directorate of entire South Andaman. In the inaugural session of the Hindi Workshop on 17th April 2018 at 10.00 am, the Nodal Officer (Official Language) Smt. Kadiamoo addressed the participants and informed that as per the OL policy of Govt. of India we have to do all works in Hindi only but with the exemption given by the Lt. Governor, A & N Islands it is now 25%, Similarly, ten works were identified to work in Hindi only. Mr. Ajay Singh, Junior Hindi Translator was the resource person for the first day.
On the second day i.e. 18.04.2018 Mr. S. Biju Pillai, Hindi Translator was the resource person for the session in which all the participants were given the soft copy of Forms, Note, Orders and discussed on the practical difficulties facing by the participants working in Hindi. In the concluding programme of the Hindi Workshop the Director of Health Services Dr. S. P. Burma distributed Pen drive to all participants in which forms, note and orders, Shabdika – Administrative Glossary, Offline English – Hindi dictionary, Hindi fonts etc. were provided in the pen drive. In his address Dr. S. P. Burma appealed to all participants to try to carry out all works in Hindi and we can set an example before the administration as one of the best department who is working in Hindi. During the concluding programme, Mr. Mohammed Ashraf, Senior Accounts Officer was also present. The concluding programme ended with the vote of thanks by Mr. S. Biju Pillai, Hindi Translator.
