Port Blair, Apr 05: Everyday dozens of Traffic Police can be seen at various areas of Port Blair city to impose challan on poor two wheeler riders and auto drivers but what about private buses, especially those which are operated in Andaman Trunk Road.
It has been observed that many buses, operating in Andaman Trunk Road, are in horrible shape, giving horrible time to passengers.
It has been observed that in some buses the seats are completely broken and the seats are any how tied up with rope and passengers are forces to sit on those broken seats.
In many others the windows are lose and seats are shaky. One wonders that when the Transport Department is so much strict about fitness of auto and other small vehicles then why fitness of massive buses are not checked on equal interval of time.
With the condition of seats and windows one can guess about the total fitness of these buses. Perhaps this is the reason why ATR buses are suffering so many of breakdowns. Hope the transport department will look into this matter before another major accident in ATR.
