Billyground: Apr 04: A massive Dharna organised by the villagers of Duke Nagar , Lakshmi Nallah & Swadesh nagar at Billyground today from 9 AM to 1:30 PM demanding basic facilities like repairing of village roads & connecting Duke nagar (ward No 1 & 2) with bridge , supply of drinking water and provision of street lights and electrification of whole village at the earliest. A memorandum in this regard was sent to the Lt. Governor of A & N Islands.
Asst Commissioner of Rangat reportedly visited the spot and assured that within a day or two the road repair works will start and all other demands will be solved positively. After assurances villagers withdrew the dharna. About 1000 villagers participated in this dharna.
