Diglipur, Mar 28: Several Complaints have been reportedly filed at Labour Commissioner’s office regarding alleged cheating by a manning Company namely ‘M/s Nepali Security’ operating from Port Blair.
As per the details available the ‘Nepali Security’ company is manning its personnel at various departments and agencies like BSNL, Education, Transport, Banks Etc.
However the security and other staffs now allege that the company has not deposited EPF amount into their accounts, as per rules.
Apart from this, many of them are not getting their payments since more than 6 months.
As per Labour law, Employees Provident Fund amount (Employment share +Principle Employer Share) should be deposited into employees’ account every month by the manning company which was not done here.
“Out of 29 months only 14 months EPF is deposited. Surprisingly, EPF amount is being deducted from our monthly salary but it is not deposited in our account,” alleged an employee.
About 47 DG operators for BSNL, 8 security Guards for Education department and many other departments are manned by that company in Diglipur alone. Already few employees complained to the Labour Commissioner at Campbell Bay in this regarding and hence it seems to be large scale corruption in all the Islands.
They also made several complaints to Contractor, EPF office & SDE CFA but till now no action has been initiated in this regard by Administration. Feeling aggrieved the employees are now demanding the Administration to take serious action in this regarding as the 4 years contract of the company with BSNL is expiring on the end of this month.
