Port Blair, March 25: The Chief Secretary, A & N Administration, Mr. Anindo Majumdar, accompanied by the Principal Secretary (Revenue), Mr. Vikram Dev Dutt and Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman, Mr. Udit Prakash Rai attended a function organized at Govt Primary School, Indira Nagar, Manglutan under Humfreygunj Gram Panchayat to distribute provisional revenue records/patta to the licencees. Altogether, sixteen records were handed over to the licencees/kins of pre-1978 encroachers, who were issued licences in the past. The Chief Secretary also interacted with the villagers and inquired about the general issues. Replying to the request of Pradhan, Gram Panchayat regarding upgradation of Primary School and providing necessary infrastructure, the Chief Secretary assured to take up the matter with the concerned authorities. He also took stock of the functioning of Transport, Health and Education Departments.
Speaking on the occasion, the Dy. Commissioner, South Andaman informed about the progress of the ongoing revenue-resurvey operations in Manglutan and adjoining revenue village and assured that the finalized records shall be made available very soon.
Earlier, Smt. Minati Biswas, Ex-Adhyaksha and Smti. Sahay Mary, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Humfreygunj welcomed the Chief Secretary and other officers.
The Chief Secretary, accompanied by the Principal Secretary (Revenue) and DCSA also visited the Primary Health Centre at Manglutan.
