Port Blair, Mar 23: On 17.03.2018 at about 1340 hrs, on receipt of credible information regarding transporting of Venison from Mayabunder to Billiground by an Alto Car, a police raiding team consisting SI Ranga Raj, SHO, P.S Billiground along with HC/1663 Sudarsannan, PC/1157 Hasif Husain& PC/2837 Anup Das rushed to BadamNallah and intercepted a Maruti Alto car bearing Reg. No. AN-01 D-0922 and on checking a plastic bag containing 45 Kgs of Venison was found in Boot Space of the above vehicle.
The persons found in the above car namely 1. Mr.K.M. Kumar S/o Mr. K.R. Madhavan (52) yrs R/o Shivapuram, Ward No.1, Betapur, 2)Mr. P. Venkatesh S/o Mr. P. Ramaiah (24) yrs R/o Shivapuram, Betapur and 3)Mr. Robert PradipLakra S/o Late Paulus Lakra (33) yrs R/o Shivapuram, Betapurwere detained and the Venison alongwith vehicle has been seized from their possession U/s 50/51 of Wild Life Protection Act 1972 and accordingly the matter was informed to Wild life officials of Betapur Range for further necessary action.
This raid was conducted under the close supervision of Mr. George Lalu, SDPO Rangat.
