Port Blair, March 21: The Annual General Body meeting of Information Technology Sub-Committee of Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association was held recently at Port Blair. The meeting discussed various important issues concerned with IT Cadre. The meeting demanded a separate Department for IT and immediate re-structuring of the IT cadre.
The meeting elected Mr. Abdul Sameer as Vice- President, Mr. M. Selvakumar as Secretary and Mr. Adam Ali as Treasurer of the Sub-Committee. A good number of IT Cadre employees attended the meeting.
In his address, Mr. T S Sreekumar, General Secretary of the association said further delay in formation of a separate Department for IT is detrimental to the future development of the Islands.He further said development of infrastructure for IT sector could be possible only under separate IT Department. Mr. R Surendran Pillai, Assistant General Secretary of the Association expressed concern over undue delay in settlement of various genuine demands of IT cadre employees including the restructuring of the cadre.
