Kalighat, Mar 17: An awareness camp cum seminar on bearing issue of man-animal conflict was organized by Kalighat Range under Diglipur Division today morning at Kalighat Gram Panchayat hall with the cooperation of PRI members, local fisherman community, school students. Inaugural address was delivered by Mr. LJM Lobo Range Officer Aerial Bay. Brief discussion along with power point presentation was presented by forest officers, Mr. Cherian Thomas (Forester) & Mr. Priyesh Kumar Pandey (Forester) with emphasis on local encounters with salt water crocodiles & feral elephants.
Vote of thanks was given by Mr. S. Halder (G.T.T- Kalighat). This type of local body awareness camp are being conducted by Forest dept. in all the affected & Panchayats for mitigation & peaceful resolution of man-animal conflict in Diglipur Division. Previous awareness camp was held successfully on Nabagram Panchayat on 13/03/ 2018 & next camp will be held in Ramnagar Panchyat shortly.
