Port Blair, Mar 20: The A&N Administration is planning to conduct a Mock Exercise on Earthquake followed by Tsunami on any day within March or April, 2018 to assess the preparedness and response mechanism of the stakeholders, Nodal Officers of line Departments / Agencies, Task Forces, QRTs and other Organisations etc.
On the day of the Mock Disaster Management Exercise all communication channels will be opened for issuing warnings and /or alerts (Mock), Mock SMS alerts to all the Stakeholders, Nodal Officers of line Departments/Agencies, Task Forces, QRTs and other Organisations and tsunami sirens will also been blown as a test siren.
General Public is requested to be appraised of this and cooperative during the Un-alerted Mock Disaster Management Exercise and not to panic. It is reiterated that the Mock Exercise will be conducted without any further notice/alert.
