Port Blair, May 15: Myanmar Navy Ship UMS King Sin Phyu Shin and UMS Inlay (OPV-54) visited Port Blair for the ‘Opening Ceremony’ of the 6th Indo-Myanmar coordinated patrol, at Andaman and Nicobar Command. On arrival, the Myanmar delegation led by Commodore Kyaw Shwe Tun, Commander of Panmawaddy Naval Region Command called on Maj Gen PS Sai, Chief Of Staff, HQ ANC. The initiative between two navies is meant to address issues of terrorism, illegal fishing, drug trafficking, human trafficking, poaching and other illegal activities. Started in Mar 2013, the event has witnessed a close professional interaction between two navies and serves to enhance mutual understanding and interoperability. The two Myanmar ships UMS King Sin Phyu Shin and UMS Inlay would undertake a coordinated patrol from 15 – 18 Mar 18. They will also carry out manoeuvres and drills during the coordinated patrol (CORPAT).
