Port Blair, Mar 12: Since last three days the Snake catching unit of Forest Department has caught as many as five King Cobra snakes from various areas of South Andaman and safely shifted all the snakes to safe location.
According to reports, on 10 March at around 4 PM, a 13 feet long King Cobra, weighting around 5 KG was caught by Deputy Ranger Mr. Manjit Singh, the snake man of Andaman and Mr. Solaman, a Regular Mazdoor of Forest Department from All India Radio area, Haddo.
Later the same team caught another King Cobra from New Wandoor area of South Andaman at around 8.00 PM. This King Cobra was 6 feet long and was weighting around 1 KG.
Today a team of Forest Department consisting of Mohammad Hussain, Forester and Mr. K. Netaji, Forest Guard caught a King Cobra from the campus Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), Pahargaon area of South Andaman.
As per reports, the snake caught around 12pm, was 4ft long and was around 3 KG in weight.
Later another, King Cobra Snake was caught from a Ventilator fan of Girls hostel toilet of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology (DBRAIT), Pahargaon area of South Andaman at around 2.30 PM today.
This King Cobra was 4 Meter long and was around 3 KG in weight. On information the snake was caught by Deputy Ranger Manjit Singh, the snake man of Andaman and Ms. Neelam Purti, Forest Ranger.
Earlier, in the evening another King Cobra Snake was caught from Bambooflat area of South Andaman.
As per reports, the snake caught around 10 am was 4 Meter long and was around 3 KG in weight. On information the snake was caught by Mr. Papa Rao Regular Mazdoor, South Andaman Forest Division.
