VS Palli, Diglipur, Feb 25: A 24 years old youth lost his life in an accident that took place near helipad of VS Palli village of Diglipur on 23 Feb evening.
As per the reports available the victim, Sumit Das aged about 24 years s/o Kamal Das r/o R K Gram was going towards Diglipur from Aerial Bay road on a moped AN 01L 8565. While he was overtaking a truck he collided with another truck, which was coming from the opposite direction. The nearby public rushed him to CHC Diglipur, where during treatment he succumbed to his injuries.
The police arrested driver of the truck Sukram Hereng r/o Shyam Nagar and investigating the matter further.
Sources said that the victim was under the influence of alcohol at the time of accident but police has not confirmed this yet. Increasing accident from Durgapur to Diglipur road suggests that alcohol is easily available at Durgapur fisherman area.
