Port Blair, Feb 06: A fire was reported from an Electric Pole of Burial Ground road, Rampur, Neil Island this morning. As per villagers there was a big sound on the electric pole and soon they saw fire on High Tension Electric Lines. Soon the matter was reported by villagers to the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) of Neil Island managed by Disaster Management Department.
As per the details, the incharge of EOC, Neil Island, Mr. Manas Biswas immediately informed the matter to the Electricity Department and also to the Fire Brigade, following which the electric supply to the region was immediately cut. The Fire Brigade team reportedly reached the spot in no time and doused the fire professionally.
