Port Blair, Jan 30: In a shocking development some candidates, who had appeared in the LGC exam conducted by Port Blair Municipal Council have recently received phone calls from unknown persons in New Delhi who are claiming to be the checkers of the exam sheets and demanding as much as Rs. 50,000 for giving high marks to the candidates.
Surprisingly the callers have been calling local candidates openly, providing the Name Bank Account numbers, and Aadhar card number together fearlessly. Not only this they are also revealing the phone number without any fear, which is raising many eyebrows.
The most important point is that how this people sitting in New Delhi are getting the phone number of candidates and also the roll numbers, who had appeared in LGC exam organized by Port Blair Municipal Council.
Does this mean somewhere there is a leakage of information?
Candidates now fear that the entire exam might be fixed and this is also possible that some candidates might have already paid amount of Rs. 50,000 to the imposters.
Meanwhile when Andaman Sheekha contacted the secretary of Port Blair Municipal Council he said that he has also received similar complaint following which a police complaint has been registered in this regard.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the Secretary PBMC, Mr Yashpal Garg said that he has also received a complaint today in this regard following which he has already requested the Superintendent of Police (District) and SHO highlighting the details of the caller, in written, to inquire into this matter.
He further said that the PBMC has also issued two notices in the local media earlier for the general public to beware of these fraud callers and not to fall in their traps.
“He said that as per the complaint received to him, the caller is informing the candidates that the evaluation of the paper has started and their marks are low but the fact till now is that, no evaluation of papers has been started yet, ” said Mr Garg.
Mr Garg appealed the general public not to fall prey to these fraud callers and not to send them any money. He also requested the candidates that if any of them receive such calls they may immediately go and register a complaint to the nearby police station.
“The process of the exam conducted including the evaluation process is completely fair and transparent and the Administration as well as the Political bodies are very serious about it” Mr Garg added.
