On the joyous occasion of 69th Republic Day, I extend my heartiest greetings to the people of Andaman and Nicobar islands.
On this day, in 1950, our country became a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular and Democratic Republic. This is an occasion to pay homage to the martyrs and heroes of our freedom struggle, who had made supreme sacrifices for the cause of our motherland. Let us pledge to live upto the ideals enshrined in our constitution and work for taking our great Nation forward along the path of progress and prosperity.
On this historic occasion, I pray for everlasting peace, well-being and prosperity for the people of the islands.
