Port Blair, Jan 24: The Port Blair Municipal Council conducted a written examination for 33 posts of LGC on 21.01.2018. The Question Paper and its Answer Key was uploaded by the PBMC by the evening of same day on the website www.and.nic.in inviting challenges for the Answer key on 22nd and 23rd January 2018.
Some candidates challenged the Question/Answer no. 99, 108, 109 and 113 by paying challenge fee @ Rs. 1,000/- each. These challenges were examined by a committee of subject experts and following has been decided:- 1.The answer to Question No. 113 will remain same as option- A, 2. The answer to Question no. 99 is changed to option-B, 3. There were printing errors in questions No.98, 108& 109. The question no. 98 had already been cancelled and the remaining two questions i.e. 108 & 109 are now cancelled. Hence the Question No. 98, 108&109 are hereby cancelled and because of cancellation of the three questions the maximum marks are reduced from 120 to 117 only.
Since three challenges were found to be correct, the Council has paid Rs. 6,000/- against the challenge fee of Rs. 3,000/- as per the commitment. The modified Answer Key with solutions to the challenged Questions has been uploaded on the website www.and.nic.in. Considering that three out of four challenges were found to be correct, it has been decided that to extend the date for challenge upto 4.00 pm on 25.01.2018. In case of no further challenge or there being no further genuine challenge, the Modified Answer Key now being published will be treated as final.
The Secretary PBMC again informed that neither any officer nor any political person has any authority to interfere with the process and hence candidates are advised not to approach anybody either in the Council or elsewhere. The whole process is being done in highly transparent & fair manner. In case any person approach with false promises then a complaint should be immediately lodged with the Police.
