Port Blair, Jan 24: The Government Pensioners’ Association has urged the Chief Controller (Pension), Central pension Accounting Officer to look into the matter of nonpayment of Pension to many Pensioners and family members of Pensioners.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Controller (Pension), Central pension Accounting Officer, Mr. P Banerjee, the General Secretary of The Government Pensioners’ Association mentioned that Pensioners and family pensioners have not been disbursed pension by State Bank of India, Mohanpura Branch, Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands without any valid reason.
“Pensioners when approached the Bank Official, it was informed that the pension would be released after 14th January, 2018. Non payment of pension has caused enormous hardship to the pensioners as most of pensioners only sources of survival is pension. The Govt. Pensioners’ Association, A&N Islands registers its strong protest for non payment of pension for December, 2017,” Mr. Banerjee mentioned.
