Port Blair, Jan 18: The Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank organised a Rangoli competition on the occasion of Pongal at Junglighat Offshore Road near Fish Landing Centre on 16.01.2018 for the Self Help Group members of the area to embark the spirit of festivity.
Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman of the Bank was the chief guest on the occasion. The programme was also attended by Smt. B Desamma, Director and Mr. Ravinder Rao, Managing Director of the bank.
Smt. Gouri Lall, Ex-President, Inner Wheel Club and Social Worker, Smt. Anuradha, Craft Instructor, GSSS Model and Dr. V Santhi, a well known dentist of the Island attended the competition as Judges and gave their valuable support in the successful conduct of the programme.
On the basis of the demand of people of area, the bank had organised Rangoli competition at the Fish Landing Centre, Junglighat in which over 12 groups participated. Dhanalaxmi group bagged the first prize; Bala Ganesh SHG bagged the second prize and Vaishnavi SHG bagged the third prize. A total of over 7 consolation prizes were also distributed to the groups who have participated in the competition.
The programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Smt. Elizabeth Mary, Women Development Officer of the bank.
