Port Blair, Jan 15: Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, the Member of Parliament of A & N Islands recently had a meeting with Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Home, GOI on 12.01.2018 and discussed various legitimate issues of this UT Islands. Besides discussion, Mr Bishnu Pada Ray,M.P. has also submitted a letter on crucial issues like, Promulgation of specific provisions for deputation/posting of Inter-state cadre officers and All India other Service officers like IFS, IFoS, IES, IIS, ITS, etc. in the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands as a special case.
Mr. Ray further expressed that the UT of A& N Islands is not having Assembly and the existing IDA committee of this UT Islands is not consisted with M.P/PRI, thereby, most of the development works are apparently found against the interest of the general Public. Hence Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, M.P. suggested for inclusion of the name of Member of Parliament/Elected PRIs in IDA Committee for betterment of the Islands.
During the discussion, it has been is also highlighted that the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Finance Commission recommendation which concern to enhancement of the fund to PRI and PBMC has not been implemented, thereby the PRIs and PMBC are facing fund crisis and unable to undertake developmental activities within their Constituencies and Wards.
Since these issues are concerned to development of the Islands, the Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs assured to give a serious thought on entire issues now presented by Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, MP.
