Port Blair, Jan 11: Doordarshan Kendra, Port Blair, A & N Islands as Public Service Broadcaster, Praser Bharati, under Ministry of information & Broadcasting telecast programmes for the islanders in various languages and programmes to cater all age groups.
Live Phone in Programme “APKE SAWAl” being is aired on Mondays (General/Legal/Current Affairs) Wednesday (Agriculture), Thursday (Legal) and Friday (Health) at 1730 hrs with live interaction of the general public.
Krishi Darshan Programme in collaboration with the Agriculture Department exclusively for farmers is being telecast from Monday to Friday daily at 1800 hrs.
An exclusive City Round Up programme “DWEEP DARPAN” is being aired from 1830 hrs to 1845 hrs comprising of all activities related to art culture, tradition, functions, celebrations, festivals, public informations like power cut, ship services and other important messages.
Apart from these there are also programmes for children, youth, women, senior citizens and Experts.
To invite more attention and participation of the islanders an effort for identifying more talents are to be done in phases in this New Year 2018. As per first phase an audition is proposed to be conducted by this Kendra on 16 & 17 January 2018 at Doordarshan Kendra, Port Blair, to select talents for anchors and live presenter.
Applications are invited from general public bearing various talents / various participation skills / compeering / anchoring / interviewers / live anchors / dancers / singer to be part of Doordarshan Port Blair Programmes.
Applications are entertained since middle of last year and it is hereby intimated that the applications can be obtained from the Doordarshan Kendra, Delanipur, Port Blair up to 13/1/2018, 1700 hrs. Applications for Anchors & Live Passengers need to be resident of Port Blair City. Applications are to be submitted to the Kendra on or before 14/01/2018 by 1500 hrs. Those shortlisted for anchor / Live presenter would be initiated after scruntly.
For other general talents and participants separate intimation would be given to them as and when required Those applications received late would be considered for the second phase of audition likely to be conducted in the middle of the year.
